Let’s just say… we had no idea what was in store for us when we visited Omega Mart on our last trip to Las Vegas. Okay, okay, I know my puns are terrible, I just can’t help myself, okay? In all seriousness, I wanted to make sure that we were able to squeeze a visit to Omega Mart on this trip, and I’m so happy I was able to experience it not only with Kevin, but with my bestie and her boyfriend as well!

If you’ve never heard of Omega Mart before, it’s an immersive art exhibit created by Meow Wolf that sits in the AREA15 complex in Las Vegas. As soon as you walk in, you’re taken to a supermarket facade that seems a little… odd. However, everything is not as it seems. You see, this is just the beginning!

Open one of the freezer doors, and you’ll stumble upon a secret path that you just can’t help but walk into…

Now there’s a whole narrative that goes along with the installation, but to be quite honest, my friends and I couldn’t figure it out. When you first arrive, you’ll receive a tap card from one of the employees which will activate some of the touch screens hidden throughout the exhibit. It will help you uncover more of the story as you continue to explore the space.

It was a bit of sensory overload at first, but once we took a few minutes to take it all in, it was time to walk around and check things out!

I also definitely recommend purchasing your tickets in advance online and trying to get one of the first morning time slots so that you can see the exhibit when it’s still not too crowded. But also depending on how invested you get into cracking clues and unlocking the story, it is so easy to spend half your day in here.

No matter which way you turn, there’s always an intriguing path to follow and secret doors to open! I loved that you weren’t rushed through the exhibit and could explore at your own pace.

I loved how intricate and detailed all of the art was. It was inspiring to see all the different colors, textures, and mixed media used throughout the space.

I’m not going to lie, everything was a little weird and a little quirky, but that’s what I enjoyed most about Omega Mart! You could tell that every detail was well-thought out and intentional, which was something I very much appreciated about it.

Have I convinced you to come see Omega Mart for yourself yet? You can visit the exhibit at 3215 S Rancho Dr #100, Las Vegas, NV 89102, and Omega Mart is open every day from 10am-12am. FYI, access to AREA15 is free, but some exhibits (like Omega Mart) require tickets. Tickets for Omega Mart can be purchased online here for $50-55 per person.

Another cool added detail is a lot of what you see in the supermarket portion of the exhibit is purchasable! They have a ton of fun, weird souvenirs you can take home for yourself or give as gifts to your loved ones.

I hope you enjoyed this recap of our visit to Omega Mart! If you’ve been before, I’d love to know what you thought of the installation in the comments below!
