I Know This Much Is True
OUTFIT DETAILS
Top: Thrifted | Skirt: Unique Vintage | Earrings: Amazon | Shoes: LAMODA (Thrifted)
We are coming up on the final photos from my super fun studio photoshoot with my friend Lindsey, and I saved my favorites for last! As I mentioned in my last blog post, I am a huge sucker for the 80s, and this set spoke to my soul (it was actually the sole reason I booked time to shoot in this studio).
It’s actually quite funny how I became enamored with the 80s, because after all, I am a 90s baby. Surprisingly enough, I had not seen any of the famed John Hughes coming of age movies until I was an adult, but I fell in love with the vibes and aesthetics of the decade after seeing For the Record Live’s Dear John Hughes show back in 2015. Ever since, seeing the color combo of pink, teal, and purple together always gives me a dopamine rush.
I recently thrifted this pink camouflage tank top and I wanted to style a Y2K inspired outfit around it. This high waisted black pleated mini skirt from Unique Vintage has been in constant rotation lately, it’s such a great basic that pairs with everything! To add something a little extra, I styled the outfit with my LAMODA pink platform sandals that I thrifted from Super Thrift La Habra.
Because Kevin is usually behind the camera, since he came along for moral support, I wanted him to get in on the action so we could get some photos together! Lindsey captured us so perfectly, and these are my new favorite photos of us.
Could you tell we had too much fun with this? It almost felt like we were in our own romantic 80s teen movie and I was here for it!
I would like to start a petition that Kevin needs to be in more of photos with me. Who agrees and wants to sign?!
I hope you enjoyed feeling nostalgic with me looking at the photos from this shoot! Huge thank you to Lindsey for helping me and doing an incredible job with the photos! (Book her for your next shoot, I promise you’ll have the best time!)
In case you missed them, make sure to check out these posts for more photo inspiration!
Which photo set from our time in the studio was your favorite?
