The Mystic Museum is located at 3204 W. Magnolia Blvd., Burbank, CA 91505. The exhibit is open seven days a week, from 11am-7pm Mondays through Fridays, and 11am-8pm Saturdays and Sundays. It’s very much a “go at your own pace” type of museum, which was nice since we didn’t feel rushed.
Although the exhibit itself is quite small, the attention to detail is worth the $16 ticket price alone. There were homages to popular horror films like Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Ring, and more. For an additional $15, you can get a collectible slasher dagger that adds an extra layer of immersion to your experience.
The only scary movie I’ve seen is Scream, and I know it’s more of a parody of horror films (hence why I was able to get through it), so those were the references I was most excited to see throughout the exhibit.
In general, The Mystic Museum is a cool must-visit spot if you’re ever in the Burbank area. Their store is made up of three different sections: the main store, Oddities and Antiques, and Camp Horror. The store itself is free to explore and wander, and there are also some fun photo ops for you to check out.
Tickets for the 90s Slashers exhibit are available for purchase in-store only, and you can check out The Mystic Museum’s website here for more info!
