Weekend Brunch at The George Pasadena

After we spent a morning at the Rose Bowl Flea Market, Kevin and I grabbed brunch at The George in Pasadena, CA. This was our first time there and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful!

We arrived right as they opened at 10am, so unfortunately they weren’t quite ready to go yet, but the staff was very kind and hospitable and had us sit in the bar area until their kitchen was up and running.

How cute is the wallpaper in their restrooms?! I normally don’t do bathroom mirror selfies, but had to make an exception for this one.

I’m not sure if it was a one-off when we went, but the kitchen wasn’t ready until about 10:35am so we were kind of in a holding pattern until then. Thankfully we weren’t in a huge rush because we read on their website that they have a live jazz band that plays on Sundays from 11am-1pm, and Kevin and I usually eat pretty quickly. If it were any other scenario, I probably would’ve been annoyed, but because the staff was super apologetic and attentive before we ordered, it didn’t bother me.

For brunch, I ordered the Steak & Eggs and Kevin ordered the Not Your Gramma Biscuits. We each ate half of our plates and switched so that we could try both of the dishes. The food was for the most part good, my only complaint was that the eggs and biscuits were just a tad too salty for my own taste. Other than that, I didn’t feel like our dishes were anything out of the ordinary, but if you want to come for a yummy brunch and some great vibes, this is definitely a place worth checking out.

The selling feature for me was definitely the live jazz band, and while we only had enough time to catch one song from their set (see, I told you we eat really fast!), it added a nice little touch to our dining experience that I really enjoyed.

Would you want to try this restaurant next time you’re in Pasadena? Let me know in the comments below!
