We’re back with another Houston blog post… this time from the first half of day two!
We started off the morning grabbing brunch with my coworker Marcus and his sweet wife Sarah at Dish Society. The food was amazing but the company was even better! I hadn’t seen Marcus in person since maybe January 2019 so it was a nice little reunion and I’m glad we got to catch up for a bit.
It still blows my mind how big Houston is, because we made a pit stop at the Johnson Space Center which was about a 45 minute drive away from where we got brunch. We didn’t have enough time to really explore and walk around the inside, but Kevin said he just wanted to see the shuttles displayed outside the museum anyway. He of course was the proudest of the SpaceX Falcon 9!
Another “landmark” I wanted to make sure we saw was the “We Love Houston” sign located in the downtown area. There were actually quite a few art installations and murals around here that we will definitely need to check out more in depth next time we’re in Houston!
Before heading off to the wedding, we grabbed a quick bite at Whataburger, because I just had to try it! We ordered a patty melt to share which was pretty good, but the fries were stale and nothing special. I’d go back if nothing else was open, but otherwise, I think Houston has much better places to eat at that are worth a try!
