She’s an icon, she’s a legend, and she is the moment. Yes, I’m talking about none other than Sharpay Evans from the High School Musical series! I’ve always loved her bold sense of style, and with the Y2K fashion trends coming back in full swing, I looked to this fabulous icon (pun intended) for some style inspiration and recreated three of her iconic looks for this post.

What I’ve Been Looking For
We’re starting off strong with my favorite look of the three - the outfit Sharpay wore during her audition where she sang “What I’ve Been Looking For” with Ryan in the first movie. (Shout out to my friend Logan who nailed Ryan’s outfit perfectly!) I started off the look with a light pink tank top tucked into a magenta ruched mini skirt. I topped it off with a silver sequined mini cardigan (I think the official term is “bolero”) which was the standout piece of the entire look. As for shoes, I kept things simple with my white glittery 90s heels I thrifted from Savers (and you’ll see I ended up using them for all of the looks).

Bop to the Top
This outfit is a bit of a looser interpretation of Sharpay’s amazing turquoise feathery dress, but I feel like this was a close enough dupe that still exuded the vibes we were going for. This dress from Unique Vintage was the perfect color match, and it even came with the flower brooch pin that felt extra in all the right ways. I accessorized with an orchid flower hair clip I picked up from a street vendor in Hawaii last year and my white glittery heels which packed a punch without overshadowing the dress.

You Are the Music In Me
This is probably one of Sharpay’s lesser known outfits, and yet, still very Sharpay nonetheless. She wore a bedazzled trim black and white bodycon dress in the second High School Musical movie, and while this is typically not a style I would normally wear, I feel like this was close enough for the look. The tiara and long layered necklace screamed the early 2000s which was a nice reference to the fashion of the time. Again, I completed the outfit with my white glittery heels, and all I needed at this point was my very own Boi!

I hope this post gave you some style inspiration to channel your inner Sharpay Evans! Which was your favorite look of the three? I’d love to know in the comments below!
