As a huge theatre nerd, I’ve been loving working with Center Theatre Group recently! I was invited to the opening night of their newest show, The Prom, and it was such a fun evening.
There was even a photo booth, so my friend Felicia (who was my date for the evening) and I had to take a cute pic together!
After grabbing our tickets, we took a photo together on the red carpet (thanks to Brian Feinzimer for the photo)!
If you’ve never seen The Prom before, it’s about a group of narcissistic Broadway stars who try to salvage their deteriorating reputations by helping a lesbian high school student in Indiana who is banned from bringing her girlfriend to the prom. I had seen The Prom movie when it came out on Netflix, and I didn’t love it, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with the stage production.
I am happy to say that this version was so much better and actually made me like the story a lot more! The cast was phenomenal, the songs are catchy, and the story was lighthearted while highlighting the important lesson of inclusivity - something that I think more people need to learn in this wild world we’re all living in. This show is a definite must-watch!
