As a huge theatre nerd, I’ve been loving working with Center Theatre Group recently! I was invited to the opening night of their newest show, The Prom, and it was such a fun evening.

We started things off with a VIP/Influencer event where we were provided with food, drinks, and music. I ran into my friends Brianna and Bree who I always love seeing!

There was even a photo booth, so my friend Felicia (who was my date for the evening) and I had to take a cute pic together!

After grabbing our tickets, we took a photo together on the red carpet (thanks to Brian Feinzimer for the photo)!

If you’ve never seen The Prom before, it’s about a group of narcissistic Broadway stars who try to salvage their deteriorating reputations by helping a lesbian high school student in Indiana who is banned from bringing her girlfriend to the prom. I had seen The Prom movie when it came out on Netflix, and I didn’t love it, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with the stage production.

I am happy to say that this version was so much better and actually made me like the story a lot more! The cast was phenomenal, the songs are catchy, and the story was lighthearted while highlighting the important lesson of inclusivity - something that I think more people need to learn in this wild world we’re all living in. This show is a definite must-watch!

Huge thank you again to Center Theatre Group for inviting me and Felicia to the show! Be sure to catch The Prom, now playing at the Ahmanson Theatre through September 11th. You can get your tickets here!
