"Funny Girl" Opening Night | Ahmanson Theatre

Disclosure: Center Theatre Group provided me with a hosted dinner at Girl and the Goat and two complimentary tickets to see Funny Girl. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Hello, gorgeous! Kev and I were invited to opening night of “Funny Girl” at the Ahmanson Theatre and it was such a great time! I loved seeing how Fanny Brice embraced her identity as she rose to fame, and I can’t wait to dive deeper and learn more about her life!

On select performance nights of “Funny Girl,” a limited number of “dinner and a show” tickets are available with a 5:30pm dinner reservation at Girl and the Goat restaurant (555-3 Mateo St, Los Angeles, CA 90013)! We got to try the food and loved the unique and delicious flavors! Some of our must try dishes include the Goat Curry and the Sticky Glazed Pork Shank!

After dinner, it was time to head to the Ahmanson Theatre for a little red carpet moment.

It was so nice to run into Doug Jones and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons before the show started.

About the show: This bittersweet comedy is the story of the indomitable Fanny Brice, a girl from the Lower East Side who dreamed of a life on the stage. Everyone told her she’d never be a star, but then something funny happened - she became one of the most beloved performers in history, shining brighter than the brightest lights of Broadway.

Ticket prices start at $40 and the show is playing Tuesdays through Sundays at the Ahmanson Theatre (135 N Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012) now through 4/28. The performance length is 2 hours and 40 minutes, including one 15 minute intermission. The show is recommended for ages 10 and up. Children 6 and under are not admitted, unless otherwise noted for specific productions.

Self-parking is available in the Music Center Garage for $10 at the Grand Ave entrance. I recommend getting to the theatre at least half an hour before show time!

It was great getting to meet Stephen Mark Lukas and Izaiah Montaque Harris who play Nick Arnstein and Eddie Ryan in the show!

Katerina McCrimmon gave a phenomenal performance as Fanny Brice! She is so incredibly talented and I look forward to seeing her in more roles in the future!

I also always love seeing my theatre bestie Melissa at these events - it was the perfect way to end the evening!

Huge thank you to Center Theatre Group for having us!
