Here's Everything You Need to Know About Disney Creators Celebration

I can’t believe it’s already been a month since our whirlwind trip to Disney Creators Celebration! I will get around to doing a daily recap of each day of our trip, but I thought it would be helpful to start off with a general post answering some FAQs about the trip and Disney Creators Lab, so let’s get into it!

What is Disney Creators Lab?
Disney Creators Lab is a program where a select group of micro-influencers are taught ways to cultivate their skills as content creators and learn how to grow their brands. The program consisted of eight virtual sessions led by different guest speakers in the Disney and social media industries, and culminated in an invitation to the highly coveted Disney Creators Celebration (more on that later)!

How do I apply to be a part of Disney Creators Lab?
Unfortunately at the time of writing this post, there is no application process for Disney Creators Lab. As part of the first cohort, Disney reached out to us to gauge interest and we each had to go through an interview process before we were selected.

What is Disney Creators Celebration?
Disney Creators Celebration is simply that - a celebration of creators! A select group of influencers are invited to this exclusive week-long celebration hosted at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line to network with fellow creators and create content through special activities and events that are organized for the guests.

How do you get invited?
To be completely honest, I’m not sure! I was invited because I was a part of the Disney Creators Lab, but in addition to the 20 of us in the program, Disney also invited 50 macro-creators and their families as well.

We had a great mix of content creators who came from diverse backgrounds and interests. Not everyone was a “Disney influencer” so don’t let that discourage you if that’s not you! Create the content that makes YOU happy and that YOU’RE proud of, and don’t give up - as long as you share the things that genuinely interest you, the right people will notice!

What’s included with the trip?
Our round trip airfare, transportation, lodging, and basic cruise accommodations were included for ourselves and one guest. I believe there was an additional fee if you wanted to bring extra people along (i.e. your child). Our specific trip consisted of four park days at Walt Disney World and a three night cruise on board the Disney Dream.

For the parks portion, we received a five-day park hopper ticket along with Genie+ and Lightning Lane for specific popular rides at each park (i.e. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, etc). We received a Disney Dining Card for us to use for food and drinks throughout our time at the parks. We also received a couple of additional Disney gift cards to spend on more food and drinks and/or merch as well.

For the cruise portion, we had to get COVID tested prior to boarding, and the rapid tests we had to take on site at the cruise terminal were covered by Disney. (Please note that all age-eligible guests (ages 5+) have to be fully vaccinated and receive a negative COVID test result to board the cruise ship. From Disney Cruise Line’s website: Guests who are not vaccine-eligible because of age must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result (paid for by the Guest) taken between 3 days and 24 hours before their sail date. Guests ages 4 and under must complete the testing requirements. The test should be a NAAT test, rapid PCR test or lab-based PCR test.)

What special things did you get to do on the cruise as part of Disney Creators Celebration?
There were a couple of special early morning photo opportunities reserved just for the creators, like this one with Captain Minnie! We also had a few mixer events throughout the cruise so that we would have the opportunity to meet and mingle with other creators on the trip.

How was the food on the cruise?
I loved the food on the cruise - and even more so, that it’s all you can eat! On a Disney Cruise, you rotate through different themed restaurants every night which makes the experience even more fun in my opinion.

On one of the nights, we decided to forego main dining to try one of the specialty restaurants on board called Palo. Our Palo experience was not included and we had to pay out of pocket for it, but it was worth every penny. I highly recommend trying it if you are able to grab a reservation!

What was the itinerary for the Disney Cruise?
On our three night cruise, we departed from Cape Canaveral and our itinerary would take us to Nassau, Bahamas and Disney’s private island Castaway Cay. In Nassau, Disney planned an excursion for our group to Pearl Island (pictured above) which we spent a good chunk of the day at. Unfortunately, we were unable to dock at Castaway Cay the following day due to unsafe wind conditions, so that day ended up becoming a sea day for us.

How much time did you get to spend at the Disney parks?
We had four days dedicated to the Disney parks, but for the most part, they were not full park days.

  • First day: This was our travel day and we were able to spend the evening at Magic Kingdom.

  • Second day (when we got back from the cruise): We spent half the day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the evening at Disney Springs.

  • Third day: We spent the morning at Magic Kingdom and the evening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

  • Fourth day: This was the only day we had a full park day at EPCOT.

What special activities did you get to do at the Disney parks?
There were so many special activities that were planned for us at the Disney parks!

  • Magic Kingdom (travel day): On our first night we had reserved seating to see Enchantment fireworks (sponsored by Pandora!) and two private receptions - one on the Liberty Square Riverboat with Tiana and Naveen, and a dessert party at Storybook Circus.

  • Magic Kingdom (the day after we got back from our cruise): We got special early morning access to take photos and videos at Cinderella’s Castle and with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald, Daisy, Chip, and Dale in their 50th anniversary outfits. We also had a private hosted breakfast for us at Tomorrowland Terrace. Afterward, we were able to create content at an empty Haunted Mansion queue and we got to ride it afterward.

  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom: There was a private dinner event sponsored by TikTok which was so much fun! We also got late night access to Pandora where we were able to create content and have Na’vi River Journey and Flight of Passage all to ourselves.

  • EPCOT: We got special early morning access to meet Remy and Emile at the France Pavilion and got to ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, along with a hosted breakfast. In the evening, we had a private dessert party and reserved seating to see Harmonious (which was amazing)! After fireworks, we also got to be the first guests to see the queue of EPCOT’s newest attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Did you get any cool gifts while you were there?
I felt so spoiled throughout the trip with all the gifts the amazing sponsors left in rooms every night! Some of the cool gifts we received included: Ray-Ban sunnies, Pandora jewelry, Corkcicle water bottle, Twinnings Tea packets, Petunia Pickle Bottom backpack from Advent Health, and so much more!

My favorite gift of all had to be the Figment popcorn bucket the Disney Parks team gave us on our last day! I am so grateful we did not have to wait seven hours in line for it, and I absolutely love Figment.

I hope this helped answer most of your questions about Disney Creators Lab and Disney Creators Celebration! If there’s anything I missed, feel free to leave your questions in the comments below and I’ll get back to you!
