Avril Lavigne: Greatest Hits Tour
12 year old me was living her best life last night at Avril Lavigne’s Greatest Hits Tour!
I still remember seeing the “Complicated” music video back in 2002 and instantly thinking Avril was so cool that I wanted to be just like her. I dressed like a tomboy and my dad even bought me a skateboard (which I subsequently fell off and ended up chipping my tooth).
I got her debut “Let Go” CD as a present for my 13th birthday and to this day, I still stand by the fact that it is a no skips album! Getting to hear some of my favorite songs live meant everything to me - I can’t believe it’s already been 22 years since I’ve been a fan!
It was my first time seeing a show at the Kia Forum and I loved how intimate the venue felt. I also thought it was a nice touch that they had Avril’s lyrics painted around the arena!
Royal and the Serpent and All Time Low opened the show and I had never listened to their music before. It’s safe to say I’m a new fan now!
Then Avril came on and she sang a few hits from each of her seven albums! I was living for the nostalgia.
