Wish You Were Here! | Come With Us Aboard the Disney Wish!

Buckle up your seatbelts, this one’s going to be a long one. We spent the last few days aboard Disney’s newest cruise ship, the Disney Wish, to celebrate my 32nd birthday, and it was a dream!

DAY 1

Just like most new-to-us cruise ships we sail on, we usually spend the first day walking around and exploring the ship to get a lay of the land. Something that instantly surprised me about the Wish was that it had this giant stage in the middle of the lobby/atrium. We were handed magic wands as we entered the ship, and it was nice because every 10-15 minutes or so, a cast member would come out on the stage and lead the group in making their first wish together on board.

We were so hungry when we arrived, so after we settled a few questions we had onboard, we headed straight to Marceline Market, which is their buffet area (think of this as the Wish’s version of Cabanas if you’ve ever been on another Disney cruise). The food quality at Marceline Market was much better than Cabanas in the past, and it just had a nice, modern feel to the place that made it enjoyable to be at.

We finally got a chance to settle into our room, which was a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom. It was beautiful and spacious (especially since it was just us two), and it was Frozen themed! We even had a nice welcome gift from our friends at Disney Parks (thank you!) and enjoyed our champagne and cheese and crackers platter in our room.

We explored the specialty restaurants onboard, starting with The Rose, which is a lush and luxurious bar and lounge themed after the rose from Beauty and the Beast. Connected to it was Palo, which we were bummed we were not able to make a reservation for, but it’s one of our favorite restaurants we highly recommend splurging on if you’re able to!

Lastly, is Enchanté, which is another one of the specialty dining restaurants, but it is the most expensive of the three. It was so elegant and beautiful inside, and I can only hope that next time we’re on the Wish, we’ll get a chance to try this as well!

As we continued to walk around the ship, we stumbled upon one of the teen hangout areas which I was obsessed with! The decor and theming was so cool.

Then it was time for the Set Sail on a Wish party! It was a fun welcome show to kick our cruise off with our favorite Disney friends!

Right before dinner, we did some shopping which made us a bit late for our dinner at 1923. We got to meet our waiters for the cruise, Chris and Philip (who I can’t recommend enough!) and they helped catch us up to speed with the rest of our surrounding tables. Of the three main dining restaurants, this one was the “fanciest” of them all - and I loved seeing all of the different art pieces from classic Disney animation films decorated throughout. The food was delicious and they even brought out a cute little chocolate cake so we could celebrate our dating anniversary (which is a week before my birthday).

I loved the fun 1920s-inspired jazz entertainment taking place right outside the restaurant in the atrium! It felt so on theme for the evening.

We then headed into the Walt Disney Theatre for our first show of the cruise, which was “Disney Seas the Adventure”! This one was one of my favorites, and I loved going through a journey with Goofy as our captain, and along the way, he brings us with him to meet some other favorite Disney characters, like Princess Tiana, Hercules, and Moana. Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to take any photos of the stage productions, but I promise you’re not going to want to miss this one!

We did a quick outfit change, and then ended the evening saying hi to Captain Minnie and Mickey, Goofy, and Pluto. Our timing was perfect because our cruise was the first sailing to bring character hugs back since the pandemic, and I just loved being able to get hugs from all of my friends again.

DAY 2

We were lucky enough to snag one of the few Disney Wish spirit jerseys on board (hence why we were late for dinner the night before), so for my first birthday wish, I wanted to take cute photos in it by the funnel. This is a must-do for us on every Disney Cruise ship!

I wanted a pretty low key day, and we decided not to get off the ship while we were docked in Nassau. We spent some time on the pool deck and had a quiet lunch at the Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods (highly recommend the BBQ there!). We attempted to watch Lightyear at the Neverland Theatre, but then changed our minds and walked around the ship some more. Before dinner, I wanted to get some photos with the characters, so we got to see Donald, Chewbacca, and the Stormtroopers!

Our dinner this evening was at the Worlds of Marvel restaurant, and I loved the theming in here! It felt so high tech and Kev and I love Marvel, so we were geeking out. We even picked up a Quantum Core sipper that we got to take home as a souvenir!

The food wasn’t my favorite here, but I was able to look past it since I was completely blown away by the presentation of everything.

We even had a special appearance by Ant-Man and the Wasp themselves! I wish they were able to take photos with all of us, but I know they’d end up being there all evening.

We had to get a few photos with our new Quantum Core sipper!

After a quick outfit change, we headed to the Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge, which surprisingly was not difficult to grab a reservation for. The attention to detail in here was stellar, and we loved our bartender Kevin! They have alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink options, so it’s definitely worth checking out while you’re on the ship.

DAY 3

It’s Castaway Cay day! If you followed me earlier this year when we were on our Disney Creators Celebration trip, you may remember that on our Disney Dream cruise, we unfortunately were not able to make our stop at Castaway Cay due to high winds. So needless to say, we were ecstatic that we were able to dock this day!

I always love seeing our Disney friends in their different outfits throughout the cruise, so the first thing we normally do at Castaway Cay is try to hit up all the characters before we relax on the beach.

We spotted our waiters Chris and Philip while they were preparing our lunch at Cookie’s BBQ! This is another one of my favorite meals throughout the cruise.

We decided to do the Stingray Adventure which was a highlight from our trip! I loved getting to feed and pet the stingrays who were all so sweet.

Usually on the four-day (or more) Disney cruises, there will be a pirate night, so we dressed up in our swashbuckling bests (okay, Kevin wasn’t prepared, but I was!) and took photos with our Disney friends in their pirate themed outfits!

Our dinner was at Worlds of Marvel again, but this time, with a Caribbean themed menu.

We headed up to the pool deck for the Pirates in the Caribbean pre-show which was super cute.

We said hi to Goofy and Mickey, and then rushed back up to the pool deck for the fireworks show! Did you know that Disney is the only cruise line that does fireworks at sea? I highly recommend standing on Deck 12, Starboard side to get the best view!

DAY 4

I can’t believe we’re already on our last full day on the Disney Wish! This was an at sea day, so it was the hustle and bustle of everyone trying to squeeze in every last activity onboard before we have to disembark tomorrow.

We started off our morning saying hi to Ant-Man and Black Panther! The lines for both characters were super long, but we got there as early as possible to try to be one of the first groups for them.

Afterward, we had lunch on the pool deck at Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods - this was another one of my favorite dining options on board! As I mentioned earlier, the BBQ spot was one of the best booths, and I also really enjoyed Donald’s Cantina which had Chipotle-style burrito bowls.

We did one last round on the Aquamouse, which is Disney’s first attraction at sea. To be completely honest, I thought it was a bit overhyped and I much prefer the Aquaduck on the Disney Dream and Wonder.

This was the only day all of the princesses were out, so the lines were jam packed! We were only able to grab photos with Cinderella and Rapunzel due to the tight schedules and long lines.

We then stopped by Joyful Sweets for a quick dessert break, and if you didn’t know, Inside Out is one of my favorite Pixar films, so the theming made me so happy! Huge thank you to my friend Samantha for my birthday treat!

Our dinner for the evening was at Arendelle, which of the three main dining options, was my favorite.

What put this at the top of my list was not only the theming, but the top-notch entertainment! It was great getting to sing along to Frozen classics with Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Oaken.

The food was not that great compared to the other restaurants, which was a bit of a disappointment.

I have to give the hugest shout out to our waiters Chris and Philip for doing an amazing job taking care of us every night! Kev and I have been cruising for years, but over time, the service has started to become less and less memorable (even pre-pandemic). Chris and Philip both brought back the magic of cruising for us - it was so nice to be able to joke around with them and see their smiling faces and excitement every evening. I hope that our paths will cross again soon, because we are definitely requesting them next time!

Here’s a closer look at some of the decor inside the restaurant!

We also want to give props to our stateroom attendant, Wannee, who kept our room in tip-top shape throughout the trip. She was the sweetest and really made the effort to get to know us, which made us feel so special!

DAY 5

We were so sad to have to disembark the ship, but alas, all good things must come to an end. We had one last breakfast in Arendelle, and snapped photos with Chris, Philip, and our head waiter Kerry Sean. We loved all of the amazing cast members we got to meet throughout the cruise, and we cannot thank them enough for making our vacation so wonderful!

If you have any questions about our trip, feel free to leave them in the comments below! And until next time, “sea” ya real soon!
