Opening Night of "The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe"

Disclosure: Center Theatre Group provided us with two complimentary tickets to opening night of The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you’re looking for a sign to see The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe, this is it!

After experiencing our first show at the Mark Taper Forum back in June (King James), I was excited to be back! I love how intimate the theatre feels and I couldn’t wait to see this production, as I’ve heard so many good things!

Written by Jane Wagner and with the role of Trudy (and other characters) originated by the legendary Lily Tomlin, this show takes an interesting look into society and how we are all connected to one another.

Cecily Strong is so wonderful and carried this entire 90 min show, all while distinctly embodying each of the different characters, ALL BY HERSELF! Her ability to be so fluid and quickly change characters was so amazing, that even with the minimal wardrobe and set, you can tell exactly who she was playing at any given time!

This was such a great show to kick off the 2022-2023 season at the Mark Taper Forum! I am super excited for this upcoming season because it features a lineup of shows from all female, transgender, or non-binary playwrights - I can’t wait to see what’s in store!

Huge thank you to Center Theatre Group for inviting me to opening night of The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe! Be sure to catch the show at the Mark Taper Forum now through 10/23 (you can grab tickets here)!
