MJ the Musical Opening Night | Hollywood Pantages Theatre

Disclosure: Broadway in Hollywood & Hollywood Pantages Theatre provided me with two complimentary tickets to see MJ the Musical. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Hollywood Pantages Theatre invited me to opening night of “MJ the Musical” and this show is an absolute thriller! I always liked Michael Jackson’s music, but I’ll admit I was never a huge fan until this show changed my mind!

After the red carpet, we hung around in the lobby area and it was so nice meeting Amanda Kloots!

About the show: This show centers around the making of Michael Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous World Tour, and goes beyond the singular moves and signature sound of the star. This musical offers a rare look at the creative mind and collaborative spirit that catapulted MJ into legendary status.

Ticket prices start at $45, and the show is playing Tuesdays through Sundays at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre (6233 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028) now until 1/28. (This show is also offering a digital lottery which you can enter at broadwayinhollywood.com two days before your desired date for a chance at $39 tickets!) The performance length is 2 hours and 30 minutes including a 15 minute intermission. The show is recommended for ages 8 and up.

Self-parking is available at the Eastown Garage (across the street from the Pantages) for $25. I recommend getting to the theatre at least 30-45 minutes before showtime!

This entire cast was so generous with their energy, and I cannot stop singing my praises for Roman Banks who I swear is like MJ reincarnated. His attention to detail in playing MJ completely blew me away - from the voice, to the facial expressions, to the dance moves - I felt like MJ himself was actually performing right in front of us! It was one of the best performances I’ve ever seen in my entire life, and believe me when I say you HAVE to see this show!

I also ran into David Archuleta on my way out! He was so sweet and I love his voice!

Thank you so much to Hollywood Pantages Theater and Broadway in Hollywood for having me!
