Joy Ride World Premiere | Lionsgate

We took a joy ride to the premiere of “Joy Ride” last night and it was everything I dreamed it would be and more!

I couldn’t wait until release day to see this film again, and I can confirm it’s even better the second time around! To look around the theatre and be surrounded by so much API talent filled me with so much pride and joy.

Before the movie started, we mingled with so many familiar faces including the Jabbawockeez and Stephanie Styles.

It was lovely running into Sang Heon Lee and Gia Kim (who are brother and sister in real life!) - I love both of them in “XO, Kitty”!

Hamilton is all my all-time favorite musical so I was totally geeking out when we ran into Daveed Diggs.

It was so nice to see Cierra Ramirez and Kara Wang from the “Good Trouble” cast showing support for Sherry Cola!

I also got to say hi to one of my favorite content creators, Francis Lola!

We then headed inside the theatre and grabbed a quick photo with Seth Rogen (who produced the film) before heading to our seats.

Adele Lim (who directed and produced the film) welcomed the audience and then brought out the entire cast on stage.

To Adele Lim, Teresa Hsiao, Cherry Chevapravatdumrong, Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Hsu, and Sabrina Wu - thank you again for this brilliant film and for pushing the boundaries in showing what it means to be unafraid and proudly Asian! I wish we had more movies like this when I was younger, but I know we’re just getting started and I can’t wait to see what’s next for our API community!
