Hadestown Opening Night | Ahmanson Theatre

Disclosure: Center Theatre Group provided me with two complimentary tickets to see Hadestown. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Hadestown is in my top 3 favorite musicals, and I was so honored to be invited to opening night with Center Theatre Group! Watching the show again gave me chills - I fell in love and it broke my heart just like it did the first time. Please don’t miss it while it’s here on a short run in LA!

For my theatre loving friends under 40, don’t miss out on Center Theatre Group’s new Premiere Pass packages which start at $169 per person (that’s less than $34 per show!) and allows you to come join the fun on opening nights for this upcoming season’s shows: “A Christmas Story, The Musical,” “Matthew Bourne’s Romeo and Juliet,” “Funny Girl,” “A Strange Loop,” and “Clue.” You’ll also receive invitations to special events surrounding the opening nights!

After the red carpet I got to meet D’Arcy Carden (I loved her as Janet in The Good Place!) and Larry Saperstein.

About the show: This show intertwines two mythic tales - that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone - as it invites you on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back.

During intermission, I ran into Daniel Franzese and Ryan McCartan who were both so kind to snap a quick photo with me.

Hadestown is a show that makes you feel, and the entire cast is graciously generous with their amazing energy and talents (also can we get a little commotion for the beautiful diversity on stage)! The soundtrack, costume design, and set are some of my favorites and I just love this show so much!

Ticket prices start at $40 and the show is playing Tuesdays through Sundays at the Ahmanson Theatre (135 N Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012) now through 10/15. The performance length is 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one 15 minute intermission. The show is recommended for ages 8 and up.

Self-parking is available in the Music Center Garage for $10 at the Grand Ave entrance. I recommend getting to the theatre at least half an hour before show time!

It was great getting to meet Amaya Braganza who plays Eurydice, J. Antonio Rodriguez who plays Orpheus, Will Mann who plays Hermes, and Lana Gordon who plays Persephone at the stage door after the show.

Huge thank you to Center Theatre Group for having us!
