Everything You Need to Know About Visiting the Walt Disney Family Museum | San Francisco, CA

One of our last stops on our San Francisco trip was the Walt Disney Family Museum! It is full of so much history and special artifacts from Walt Disney’s life, and it is the perfect museum for any Disney fan! What made it even more special was that we got to spend the afternoon with my dear friend Lucy who I finally got to meet in real life for the first time! In this post, I’ll be sharing everything you need to know about visiting the Walt Disney Family Museum.

The Walt Disney Family Museum is located at 104 Montgomery St, San Francisco, CA 94129. Find animation, innovation, and inspiration in the remarkable life story of Walt Disney! The museum features contemporary, interactive galleries with state-of-the-art exhibits narrated in Walt’s own voice alongside early drawings, cartoons, films, music, a spectacular model of Disneyland, and more.

Don’t miss the special “Disney Cats & Dogs” exhibition which explores the evolution and innovation of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ animal-inspired animation and storytelling through the decades, and the massive undertaking involved in bringing their iconic cats and dogs to life on screen!

Ticket prices for the main museum start at $25 for adults and $15 for children ages 6-17 (children under 5 are free). For an additional $5 you can also get access to the special “Disney Cats & Dogs” exhibition (which is available to view now through 6/2)!

The main museum is open Thursdays through Sundays from 10am to 5:30pm (last entry is at 4:30pm). The special Disney Cats & Dogs exhibition is open Thursdays through Sundays from 10am to 5pm (last entry is at 4pm) in the Diane Disney Miller Exhibition Hall. Please note the museum is closed on 12/25 and 1/1.

Metered parking is available close by in the Presidio area. I recommend getting to the museum about 15 minutes before your scheduled ticket time!

Huge thank you to Walt Disney Family Museum for hosting me!
