Come With Me to Pismo Beach! | Our Stay at Spyglass Inn

Disclosure: Spyglass Inn hosted us with a complimentary two night stay in exchange for this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

We headed up to Pismo Beach for the weekend because Kevin’s cousin was getting married in Paso Robles (about a 45 minute drive away)! It was both of mine and Kev’s first times in the city, so we were excited to explore and check out the area!

We were very kindly hosted by the beautiful Spyglass Inn during our stay, and we instantly fell in love! They are part of the Pacifica Hotels family (last year I got to stay at the Marina Del Rey Hotel and Riviera Beach House which are also part of their portfolio of boutique hotels), and we knew we had to book at one of their properties because we love how pet friendly they are (which means Maximoff gets to come on our trip with us too)!

The hotel has 82 refashioned guest rooms where guests can enjoy generous hotel amenities, including upscale bath products, waffle-weave bathrobes, free Wi-Fi, and a 55” HD flat screen TV.

We stayed in a Partial Ocean View King with Balcony room and I was instantly obsessed with the room decor. All the gorgeous blues made me feel so relaxed! One thing to note is all of the rooms don’t come with air conditioning, so leave your windows open to let the fresh ocean breeze in! You can also call the front desk to request a portable fan for the room if needed.

As you can see, Maximoff especially loves their comfy beds! Spyglass Inn welcomes well-mannered dogs, cats, birds, and fish. Please note that no more than two pets may occupy a guest room. There is also a non-refundable pet fee of $40/night (maximum of $150 per stay).

The front desk staff at Spyglass Inn was so friendly and helpful whenever we had questions or needed anything. They were also so sweet to leave us a surprise bag of munchies and a s’mores kit in our room when we arrived!

After settling into our room, we headed to the downtown Pismo Beach area (less than a 10 minute drive from Spyglass Inn) where we grabbed a quick dinner and then found a charging station close by for our Tesla. It felt like old times eating dinner in the car and watching YouTube while we waited for it to charge!

However, if you’re looking for a more convenient place to eat, you can also enjoy a meal at Spyglass Inn Restaurant which is located onsite the hotel property! Unfortunately they do not do room service (as it’s owned by separate management), but they’re open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day.

Once we got back to the hotel, we picked up Maximoff and then did a mini family photo shoot down by the beach with our tripod. We loved that Pismo Beach was only a quick five minute walk from our hotel, but note that you will need to take stairs down and it’s a bit steep.

Make sure you don’t miss catching the sunsets here - they are so stunning and some of the most beautiful ones I’ve ever seen!

We also saw many families enjoying a dip in the pool throughout the day - it was definitely a hot spot of the hotel!

On our final morning, we soaked in our last moments with the ocean breeze while we took Maximoff on his daily walk. The natural fog against the backdrop of the cliffs makes for great photos!

Don’t forget to bring your graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate bars to make s’mores by the fire pits at the hotel - but get there early! They’re open from 7am to 10pm and are all first come, first served.

If you want to find another way to unplug during your stay, feel free to hang out in the hotel lobby to play a game of chess or curl up with your favorite book by the fireplace!

I can’t believe our little weekend getaway to Spyglass Inn has already come to an end! To plan your visit to Spyglass Inn, you can make your reservation for your stay online here.

Huge thank you again to Spyglass Inn for the hospitality and for hosting us during our trip! We had such a great time and already can’t wait to come back!
